About this policy

This policy explains what personal data Playwood collects when you visit playwood.store or buy from us, why we use it, and what your rights are.

Who is responsible for your data

Playwood, based in Barcelona, Spain, is the data controller. Our full legal details (name, tax ID and address) are in the site footer. For anything about your data, email hello@playwood.store.

What we collect

• Order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address, what you bought and what you paid.
• Custom design content: the text, names, dates or designs you submit. If they include someone else's name or details, please only include what you're happy to share with us.
• Payment details: handled by our payment provider. We never see your full card details.
• Messages: what you send us by email or through the site's forms.
• Account details: if you create an account, your login email and order history.
• Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.
• Browsing data: collected through cookies, such as your device, browser, the pages you visit and your approximate location (from your IP address).

Why we use it

• To make and deliver your order, and to handle returns and guarantee claims. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
• To keep accounting and tax records. Legal basis: our legal obligations.
• To answer your messages. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you, or steps you've asked for before buying.
• To send you news and offers, only if you've signed up. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link.
• To keep the site working and secure, and to understand how it's used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest for essential cookies and security; your consent for analytics and marketing cookies.

We don't sell your data, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

• Wix, which hosts our website and online store.
• Payment providers, to take your payment.
• Delivery carriers, to deliver your parcel (name, address, phone and email).
• Email providers, to send order emails and, if you've signed up, our newsletter.
• Our accountant and the tax authorities, when the law requires it.

Service providers process your data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Payment providers and public authorities act as independent controllers.

Transfers outside the EU

Some providers, including Wix, process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an EU adequacy decision (such as the one for Israel, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Orders and invoices: 6 years, as Spanish commercial law requires (Código de Comercio, art. 30).
• Custom design content: with your order record, so we can handle guarantee claims.
• Account details: until you delete your account.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Messages: up to 12 months after we've resolved your request.
• Cookies: as set out in the cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• restrict or object to how we use it
• send it to you or another company in a portable format
• stop using it where you gave consent (this doesn't affect what we did before)

Email hello@playwood.store and we'll reply within one month. We may need to keep some data, such as invoices, for as long as the law requires. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).

Cookies

Our site uses cookies. Essential cookies keep the site and checkout working. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Children

Our shop is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 14, the age of digital consent in Spain. If you think a child has given us their data, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. Checkout, payments and logins are encrypted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
